A Stroll Around Thunder Mesa
Most of my photos around Disneyland Paris' Frontierland focus on either Phantom Manor or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Both are stupendous attractions and the best versions of their rides out of any of the Disney theme parks around the world. But I don't really showcase the general Frontierland area too much. In Paris, though, Frontierland plays into both the stories of both of its marquee rides. Story-wise, it is Thunder Mesa, a mining town that sprang up like so many Old West towns do--in search of fortune. But ultimately, it was taken control of by Henry Ravenswood, who owned both the mine of Big Thunder Mountain and haunts the sinister Phantom Manor. Outside of the two supernatural attractions, the town itself is charming, dusty, and familiar to those who've been to most other Magic Kingdoms.
Here are some snapshots of the scene in this French version of the West!
