Ravishing Mysterious Island

The first time I ever heard of Tokyo Disney Sea, the port of call that most caught my interest was the central "themed land" of the park, Mysterious Island. This steampunk research lab located in a watery caldera with architecture and visual storytelling inspired by Jules Verne was unlike anything Disney had ever Imagineered.  Anchored by two amazing attractions and featuring a towering volcano that actually shot out fire, this area was truly enveloping and immersive.  The photos of the ambiance were otherworldy.  The architecture reminded me of Disneyland Paris' Discoveryland, but even more articulated. And general storyline was creative and engaging.  I do wish that the skies had been more cooperative during the times that I happened to be in this area of the park during my two visits in 2015 and 2016, but I still loved how spectacular everything was once I was able to see Mysterious Island in person!

Nautilus Gifts is just one small part of the grandeur of Tokyo Disney Sea's Mysterious Island.
