Waiting for 1000
Over this past holiday season, the Haunted Mansion's year-long refurbishment finally officially completed with the opening of the physical queue for the attraction. Although the ride had opened back in August as the Haunted Mansion Holiday, the line was still under construction. This resulted in the use of virtual queue for guests wanting to ride the revamped Mansion, and if they were waiting at 7am or in the parks and trying at noon, they were out of luck.
The remodeled line is certainly photogenic and atmospheric. It's just not the same ambiance as the Plantation-style Haunted Mansion building that stands prominently behind it. Instead, there seem to be cues from Georgian, Art Nouveau, and general Southern styles. From a narrative perspective, it 's inconsistent. But it is nice to photograph! And though these freehand shots are a bit grainy and not as crisp as I'd prefer, they do give a sense of how the environment of the new Haunted Mansion queue is like.
