The Ghost of Christmas Splash
Today's photo is from three years ago, but it's also a representative of Yesterland, because its subject--Splash Mountain with its Christmas trimmings--is no longer found in Disneyland Park. Just last month, its replacement--Tiana's Bayou Adventure--officially opened in Disneyland after its clone opened in Walt Disney World earlier this year. I haven't stopped by to see if it's decorated for the holidays this year, but it didn't look to be earlier in November when preview operations were happening. Regardless, it looks different from the image below for many reasons, eschewing the rustic charm of the old Critter Country setting in favor of something that is a bit more New Orleans festive, with more color and brighter tones. For fans who want to remember the original and sometimes controversial attraction that stood here, it'll have to be through photos such as this one. Either that or fly to Japan!
