Storytellers in Front of the Christmas Tree
Oddly enough, in all my years of photographing at the Disneyland Resort, I'm not sure I've ever taken a photo of the Storytellers Statue at Disney California Adventure's Carthay Circle during the Christmas season. Even though it's theoretically a highlight composition, my holiday photos here usually face the Carthay Circle Restaurant or the fountain or generally away from DCA's version of the Partners Statue at Disneyland. I think part of it is because the holiday decorations are so much in the background that they're not very promiment. They've visible, but even the Buena Vista Street Christmas tree is obscured by the palm trees directly behind the statue, so unlike the iconic scene at The Hub over at the other park, this scene feels less compositionally striking. Also, there always seems to be people in the way or in the background if I did want to capture this scene.
Well, fortunately, a few weeks, the coast was clear. So I got the shot pretty quickly and to my satisfaction, and then I moved. And wouldn't you know... it's a pretty charming scene after all!
