Macabre Magentas

Halloween is fantastic, and it results in a lot of really awesome nighttime displays with cool sets and sinister sights and eerie lighting.  But that same illumination that creates some spooky scenes can also result in photos that are very difficult to edit due to harsh hues and oversaturation.  Some number of years ago, I learned to deal with red lighting by darkening the red channels to reduce washed out red tones.  This year, I finally figured out the secret to settings in blue lighting--slide that saturation bar down and play with the color temperature slider to make things warmer to offset the over-abundance of blue.  The only troublesome tone left for me to tackle is purple.  After orange, it's probably the most predominant Halloween color--at least when it comes to lighting--but man can it sometimes wreck havoc with getting a scene properly color balanced!  I've made an attempt below, but I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with it.  And sure, I could just Google the answer, but where's the fun in that?

Oh well, back to tinkering.

The hue of Carthay Circle during Halloween Time is uncanny, to say the least!
