A Ring of Spookiness

On evenings during Halloween Time, the circle of trees surrounding Carthay Circle is transformed into a luminous wreathe of purple hues that ring around the fountain and provide some fun photographic framing opportunities to those looking for them.  The purple lighting itself wrecks havoc on people's color balancing and editing, but it does provide a really great ambiance and a unique atmosphere for the heart of Buena Vista Street.  In the past, I'd wait until after park closing to try to capture clean, empty park photos, but with my busy schedule and patience less likely to endure late nights at the park these days, I've turned to selective framing to keep people out of my shots while still imparting wide shots of the spooky environment.  In a place like Buena Vista Street, that sinister fun really saturates deeply!
