Inside the Car Toon Spin

I've just realized that in over one dozen years of this blog's life (it just hit the twelve year mark last month), I have never posted photos from inside Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin.  To be fair, prior to this year, I don't think I had ever even tried photographing this attraction on-ride.  And to be fair to that fair point, I've also rarely ridden it.  It's not that it's a bad ride--it's actually one of the underrated attractions in the park.  But its historical popularity as the anchor attraction in Toontown and lowkey long lines has frequently deterred me from waiting.  Plus, prior to its refurbishment, Mickeys Toontown had gotten rundown and not very enticing for photography.

Thanks to last year's reopening after an extensive complete land renovation, Mickey's Toontown is once again a hotspot, and in addition to its new marquee, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, it's other dark ride has remained a beloved attraction.  I recently took a ride near the end of the evening, when the lines were much more manageable, and was able to capture some of the scenes in this fast moving and literally spinning attraction that is certainly a dark ride photography challenge!  Follow along for your enjoyment!

It's time to ride Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin!  We're ready to go on one of the Lenny the Cab vehicles.

Entering the town, we see the Weasels dumping barrels of Dip.

This creates spinning chaos for Roger Rabbit and anyone driving through.

In a scene that previous saw Jessica Rabbit tied up in the trunk, now-detective Jessica Rabbit is on the case and attempting to stop the poor pollution.

Guests crash into the Bullina China Shoppe, which is full of fragile wares.

A trip into the power station comes next.

The Toontown Power House is electrifying!

Check out the face on this transformer.

Roger Rabbit has a shocking moment.

An explosion sends guests soaring before falling down through the skyscrapers of the city.

The descent continues in this M.C. Escher-esque descent.

We wind up in the Gag Factory, which is aptly named.

A Weasel holds open a crate, trying to trap us.

Detective Jessica Rabbit has apprehended some of the mal-doers.

Oh no! One more attempt at getting Dipped!

This Weasel can't succeed though.

Roger Rabbit helps return guests back to where they came by providing a portable hole.

Stretching out, guests return to the taxi cab station!
