Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!

Speaking of being late to the show, on the same day I was able to finally see Din Djarin and Grogu at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, I also finally checked out the new Better Together parade at Disney California Adventure.  As part of this summer's Pixar Fest celebration, this parade operates twice daily along the DCA parade corridor.  Featuring eight segments, colorful costumes and floats, and a mixture of Pixar's classic and newer films, the parade is an energetic entertainment offering that seems to be a hit with guests.  I'll say that it's not one of my favorite parades, because it doesn't quite match the grandeur and enchantment of a parade like Magic Happens or Paint the Night, but it does have a catchy theme song (and not as annoyingly sticking of one as the Pixar Play Parade, thank goodness), and I did particularly like the Luca float.  Here are photos of the parade on its late afternoon run back toward Hollywood Land.

The Better Together Parade starts off with kinetic energy, as roller bladers skate around a float of Luxo Jr., the Pixar Lamp.

Luxo Jr. is technically the first float, but it's a small one that acts as a prelude to the rest of the parade.

The first formal float is themed to Turning Red.

Mei Mei is there in her red panda form, of course.

So are her friends, like Abby Park.

They nailed the casting with her.

Of course 4*TOWN has to be part of the show.

Next is a float for Up.

Look at Kevin's babies!

Carl waves to the crowd.

Dug is on the back of the float, looking for squirrels.

Next is Soul.

Mr. G. leads a jazzy group of musicians.

I'm not sure if they actually play live, because they did not as they passed, me, but there were enough instruments to suggest that they did!

Inside Out is next.  This float commemorates the original film.

Joy and Sadness are the stars.

Sadness is so cute.

Bing Bog brings his candy bubbliness to the float.

Luca brings the most elaborate float of the parade.

There are dancers preceding the actual float.

Giulia has the high ground on her scooter.

Alberto basks in the Mediterranean (Californian) sun.

Luca floats around in his semi-aquatic form.

This float really captures the romantic ambiance of the Italian Riviera!

It's superhero time, as The Incredibles favorites ride some familiar-looking hovercraft.

Fans will recognize this from the Pixar Play Parade.

Next comes Woody, riding Lotso's dump truck.

The finale float features a bevvy of Pixar character favorites.

There's Jessie from Toy Story.

And Miguel from Coco.

And Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc.!
