An Aulani Evening
When I was at Aulani in 2022, I made sure to get that pristine, centered view of the Waikolohe Valley after dark, capturing the grandeur of this lush courtyard space. Last year, when I visited again, I switched things up by getting an angled shot for something a little more interesting. Pu'u Kilo, the craggy volcanic peak that functions as the top of a waterslide, is to the side and off to the distance, while the south wing of the hotel wraps around the background. A glimpse of the Waikolohe Stream meanders through the foreground. And far off, twinkling stars can be seen over the Pacific. It's a romantic atmosphere and a peaceful end to a lovely day. Looking at a scene like this, how can one not feel a sense of island bliss?
The early evening over the Waikolohe Valley is a semi-starry sight. |
