The Daisy, Moored
When Mickey's Toontown opened last year after a long refurbishment, one prominent change was the transformation of Donald's Boat into Donald's Duck Pond--and specifically, the removal of access onto the boat itself, which used to be a walk-through attraction. I suppose this was made to mitigate wear and tear, as the S.S. Miss Daisy now sports a series of scenes that guests can interact with via levers and controls. Around the vessel, a playground space and a water play area provide an aquatic ambiance. I probably like the old setup a little better--mostly because it allowed for a nice elevated perch overlooking Mickey's Toontown--but the reimagined version follows the notion of reinforcing play for children who visit the land, and that has value too.
