Springtime Is Tabebuia Time
A few weeks ago, I took a run through Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for one of my first late night photo runs in a while. The end of the evening brought me to the familiar setting of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse posed together, overlooking Main Street behind me. As a bonus, the tabebuia trees around The Hub were also in various stages of bloom, and I was able to position the most vibrantly pink of the quartet as a bold background for the Partners Statue. This is a shot I've taken many times before--although on this night, I was also using my Nikkor 16-35mm f/4 wide angle zoom lens for the first time in a while. The sweeping perspective allowed me to capture a good amount of foreground and background, and best of all, there were minimal people in sight to busy the composition! Given the relative haste in which I had to compose and take this picture (since a Disneyland security guard was patiently waiting just off frame), I think this ended up turning out rather well. The color is part of why springtime is such a luxuriantly verdant setting for Disneyland photography!
