The Torii Gate Bridge
Now that we're out of the holiday seasons, I can post more San Fransokyo Square photos. My favorite subject to photograph in this reinvigorated land is the Torii Gate Bridge--San Fransokyo's take on the Golden Gate Bridge. With towering pylons evoking the traditional gateway structure found in countless Japanese shrines (which also makes this name redundant, technically), it's a great bridge form and an iconic and photogenic monument for the camera lens--particularly at night, when the string lights mark the suspension bridge cables and make them actually prominent.
