Mei Mei and Ming Lee

This year is the Year of the Dragon, but you might be forgiven for thinking it's the year of the red panda at the Disneyland Resort, because the Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure seems to have leaned hard on the Turning Red representation.  There is a lot of merchandise featuring the 2022 Pixar movie, and a highlight is this year's debut of a Turning Red character meet-and-greet featuring Meilin and Ming Lee--the protagonist and her mother duo who star in this coming-of-age film.  This photo op is located in the little San Francisco Painted Ladies neighborhood of what used to be Pacific Wharf (so to me, this is technically part of San Fransokyo Square now).  The actors who portray these characters have nailed the looks, with Mei capturing the exuberance and energy and Ming Lee showing her stoic elegance.  They've been a popular hit this season, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them return in future years, similar to how Raya has taken up recurring residence at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail!
