Looking into Its Eyes

There is only one rule in the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, and that's that you don't talk about the Temple of the Forbidden Eye!! Sorry, actually, it's not to look into the eyes of the idol Mara.  Just don't do it.  It can grant you eternal youth, visions of the future, or earthly riches.  Just don't mean mug the idol.  That's it!  And yet, so many people end up looking, and that sets off a chain reaction cycle of peril and near doom that only ends with Indiana Jones winds up rescuing the guests.  Well, I guess that's the negative part about tourists.  They sometimes just don't bother to follow the rules!
