Ciao Catal
A couple of months ago, Catal, one of the establishments that opened with Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort, closed after a 22 year run. In a shopping and dining district that has seen its fair share of change and turnover through the years, Catal Restaurant & Uva Bar was one of the consistent mainstays, remaining even while storefronts around it changed hands--some multiple times. Catal's departure leaves even less original tenants in Downtown Disney West. World of Disney, the Lego Store, Tortilla Jo's, Naples Ristorante, Jazz Kitchen (if you count it after its reimagining and rebrand), and Wetzel's Pretzels are among the few remaining founding members (and off memory, also Jamba [Juice]?). As Walt Disney often conveyed, the only constant at Disney is change, because Disneyland will never be complete, and that applies to its neighbors too. So here's to a great 22 years (an ode two months late). And here's a photo of Catal and Uva Bar to remember them as they've moved onto the Yesterland.
