Big Grizzly After Dark
Although Hong Kong Disneyland's Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars is that park's next-generation take on the iconic Big Thunder Mountain Railroad--a mine train roller coaster with forward and backward components, launches, and a wild west theme--the landscape doesn't quite have the same punch as the Bryce Canyon-inspired buttes of Big Thunder. There are familiar elements in the setting that Imagineers crafted for this themed land--the ursine form of the mountain echoes Grizzly Peak at Disney California Adventure, while the cool blue and purple lighting has been a common illumination color scheme at many parks. But these features feel set back from the main pathway, and there aren't any particularly dramatically framed moneyshot spots to capture the scene. It's better experienced in person, where the enveloping space changes around guests.
But that doesn't mean I haven't tried to take nice, iconic shots of the area and this marquee attraction anyway!
Nighttime at Big Grizzly Mountain is kind of evocative! |
