Scenes from Spring Dapper Day 2023
This past Sunday was another edition of Dapper Day, that unofficial Disney holiday where people dress up in elegant attire or Disneybound as their favorite Disney characters to spend a very fashionable day at the parks. This event harkens back to the 1950s and 1960s, when the everyday fashion of going out was a little more sophisticated than the casual wear of today, and it's become a beloved time for guests to put on special wardrobe in which to enjoy the Happiest Place on Earth!
I stopped by for a few hours and captured some looks from just a small handful of guests. A combination of getting to the parks late and my still somewhat lost ability to approach strangers for photos (which I had gotten comfortable doing at Dapper Days before the pandemic but just relinquished post-COVID) meant that I didn't photograph as many people as in past years. But I think the guests I did photograph were pretty amazing with their outfits!
Magic by Muses (and Mama Muse) pose with a group of kids who also made their own costumes paying tribute to the Dapper Dans! This was absolutely adorable! |
The Muses were the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty. |
Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather! |
I also noticed this amazing couple Disneybounding as Maui and Tamatoa. |
Everything about this outfit was custom hand-done, including all the amazing accessories. |
The hook of Maui--doubled as a walking stick! |
And I caught this guest with an old-timey camera "taking a picture" of me taking a picture of him! |
