Mickey & Minnie's Stationary Fountain

Last Sunday, the refreshed and revitalized Mickey's Toontown officially opened to the public. And last Friday, I made a visit to Disneyland to check out how this themed land--the park's second newest--has been transformed!

At the centerpiece of the redone cartoon world is a new fountain in front of the El CapiTOON Theater that functions as the "Hub" of Toontown.  At the casualty of the removal of the Roger Rabbit fountain in front of Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin and the Mickey Mouse fountain in front of Mickey's House, this new, colorful, and silly version features the aesthetic of the Paul Rudish Mickey Mouse cartoons, with Mickey lifting up his beloved in a ballet move while Minnie holds a watering can that contributes to part of the fountain's activity.  Perched atop a colorful and giant lily being bolstered by a spout of water, with more vibrant lily pads around it, the fountain invites guests to touch and play around the water.  It's a fitting icon at the nexus of Mickey's Toontown, where three paths converge, and the new Toontown atmosphere can be observed in 360°!
