Time to Unwreck the Halls
Today marks the last day of the longest Haunted Mansion Holiday season ever. Last fall, the Haunted Mansion unveiled its Nightmare Before Christmas transformation on Labor Day weekend. And today, after almost the entire month of January, it will run with Jack Skellington and friends for the last time until this upcoming fall. That's almost five complete months--a stretch I don't recall any other HMH season even approaching.
I'm one of those who loves the Nightmare Before Christmas retheme, but part of the charm is that it's a limited time of the year. So even I think maybe Disney dials it back a bit next year and returns the Mansion to its regular Grim Grinning charm after the holidays are over. In the meantime, here are some photos I took inside and outside the ride on my new Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8E lens, which replaced my old 70-200mm telephoto that had served me very well over the previously decade before finally copping out.
