Chugging Up That Hill (A Deal with Grizzlies)
Hong Kong Disneyland's Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars is to the park what Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is for most of the rest of the Disney Magic Kingdoms--a mine train roller coaster that takes riders on a thrilling, twisting jaunt through a rustic settlement. But it's a next-generation version, with a quirky story about bears getting into trouble and causing mischief and sections of the ride that go backward in addition to forward! Everything seems normal enough to begin with, but a third of the way way through the course, the train climbs a hill and seemingly comes close to cresting when a flywheel appears to malfunction, breaking a cable and sending surprised riders dropping backward onto a new circuit! The resulting twists and turns make for a very fun ride--one that blends an old-fashioned setting with very new-fashioned technology!
