Five and Dime and Blooms
It's just about springtime, and at the Disneyland Resort, that means those beautiful tabebouia trees are blooming. Every February or so, the trees at Carthay Circle and The Hub at Disneyland burst into beautiful pink blossoms, signalling the departure of winter. And while it's not technically spring yet, in Southern California, this is as close as we'll get to a heralding of the change of the seasons.
Since the parks have reopened, Carthay Circle itself has been closed off to guests and used as podium spaces for character meet-and-greets and photo ops, as well as for performances of Five and Dime, the band that performs at the heart of Buena Vista Street as part of the street ambiance. Normally, they roll in on a cruiser and set themselves up in front of the Storytellers Statue, but now, with their little stage in front of the fountain, they're even more prominent. And with the blooming trumpet trees framing them, their show presents a vibrant composition that's ripe for photos! Here are some shots I took over last weekend when I stopped by.
