Yuletide Diamond Partners
Today's post is a bit of a #ThrowbackThursday to Disneyland's 60th Anniversary, when the castle was decked out in sparkling diamond motifs and lighting and actually skipped its annual snowcapped look during the holiday season because the anniversary decorations took precedence! This late night photo with nobody in it was taken during one December visit, and I found it after having never actually edited it when I took the photo at the time. Fortunately, the exposures were sufficient to capture a beautiful, glowing Christmas sight, with Walt and Mickey in focus and the beautiful Sleeping Beauty Winter(ish) Castle behind. Of course, what really made the scene were those fantastic spotlights shining their geometric pattern across the sky, amplifying the visual drama overhead.
Christmas might be over, but the holiday season continues at Disneyland (this year through January 9th), so it's kind of nostalgic to look back at scenes from Disney Yules past!
