The Festive Dead
Halloween Time has returned to the Disneyland Resort, and that means in Frontierland, the Día de los Muertos display is back too. When I stopped by the parks last Friday (for the first time in 18 months!), the set was mostly up, with one spot still a little empty. The tribute to Mexican culture hasn't changed overall over the years, but the details in the ofrendas seem to vary a bit from season to season. But it's still a colorful, lively-looking (pun intended?) composition of figures, flowers, flags, and food, and it's a nice nod of inclusion to a holiday that has become a part of the autumn cultural zeitgeist.
