Docked by Thunder Mountain
It gets kind of challenging combing through old, unprocessed Disney park photos, looking for interesting and unique that I haven't posted before... or which at least is compositionally intriguing. This photo caught my eye as I was browsing because of the juxtaposition between the towering smoke stacks of the Mark Twain and the towering buttes of Big Thunder Mountain. The two structures almost seem to speak to each other in this perspective illusion that places them side by side--even though in real life, they're dozens of yards away. But that's the fun with photography and forcing perspective--it can create fun frames that playfully manipulate the relationships of the elements within them. Goodness knows that Disneyland is full of such opportunities!
