That Shark's Sunken Treasure
Shanghai Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is a ground-breaking, cutting-edge spectacular of an E-Ticket ride that blends rich practical sets with highly technical 3D projection mapping effects to create a whole new level of ride immersion. And though this attraction deviates from the story of the rest of the Pirates rides around the world--going off of the movie franchise--it still shares tributes and touches to the original classic. Take the treasure scene... in the classic rides, guests sale past grottos of jewels and gold tended to by the dead, skeletal buccaneers of ages past. Here, however, the treasure is very much being claimed by animated (though still dead, or undead, to be precise) swashbucklers who are not too keen on intruders at all. This includes Maccus, the hammerhead pirate who is Davy Jones' First Mate. Amidst the splendor and beauty of the ocean cavern, he issues a stern warning to the trespassers. I guess when it comes to treasure, it's best to steer clear of Davy Jones' Locker!
