The first time
I ever took this photo, I shot in jpeg, I needed five exposures, and the result was still worse than any photo a modern phone can take today. But as technology changes, it provides a chance to revisit old attempts, and this time around, I needed only two exposures (in RAW) to get something a lot more balanced and closer to what the human eye perceives. The result is a scene of holiday tranquility, gently glowing at night after a long day of hustle and bustle and Christmas time crowds. The rustic atmosphere lends an extra sense of serenity, and the whole composition imbues a sense of peace... on the Happiest Place on Earth!
