This confluence of history and nature wrapped in exquisite Disney ambiance brings feelings of the frontier and exploration to mind, and the scene recalls the most romantic aspects of this American lore. And sure, that washes away the unsavory aspects of the Old West, but it's Disneyland, it's about the positive memories and escapism. So in that context, I think it's okay.
