As I've mentioned before, Southern California enjoys fantastic weather year-round, but it's relatively rare when we get dramatic clouds that light up the skies during sunset or sunrise. Last winter, though, this seemed to happen with more frequency, and I was even fortunate enough to be at the parks to photograph the scenes on one such occurrence. In this shot, though elements of Paradise Pier are noticeable, the wispy clouds and dramatic lighting of the sky are the real stars of the scene. The cotton candy mix of warm and cool colors creates a vibrant scene as the sun sets--certainly not something witnessed in SoCal everyday!
