The Carthay Circle Premiere
If you're a Disney afficionado, you may know that the Carthay Circle Theater was where Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs had its world premiere, in 1937. At the time, this theater was one of the most famous and popular movie palaces there was, and its selection to showcase the debut of first-ever fully animated major motion picture was a landmark.
Today, at Disney California Adventure, the Carthay Circle Restaurant pays tribute to this by way of faithfully recreating the iconic structure. And though films cannot be seen inside, the presence and revitalization of the area outside mirrors what the Carthay Circle Theater was able to do for that section of Los Angeles in the early-mid 20th century. It's a fitting monument to the story of Walt Disney in Los Angeles, that's holds the underlying theme at DCA!
